How do cities and human beings relate to one another? A city is sustained through infrastructure. Only when fundamental systems such as roads and water networks are established can a city truly become complete. Among these infrastructures, the most essential is the human being. Humans are the smallest infrastructural units within the city, and in order to survive within it, they transform themselves into infrastructure — constructing the foundations of human society and becoming its most microscopic units. Yet the city created through this process eventually grows vast enough to impose itself upon humanity, while humans continuously attempt to reshape and reconstruct the city in return. In this way, the relationship between the city and humanity becomes one of mutual parasitism.

도시와 인간은 어떻게 관계맺고 있는가? 도시는 인프라에 의해 유지된다. 도로나 수도 같은 기본 요소들이 갖추어져 있어야 도시가 비로소 완성이 된다. 그중에서도 가장 중요한 인프라는 인간이다. 인간은 도시 속에서 가장 작은 단위의 인프라며, 도시 속에서 살아남기 위해 스스로를 인프라화 하여 인간 사회에서의 기본을 구축하고 가장 미세한 단위가 된다. 이렇게 만들어진 도시는 어느 순간 거대해져 인간을 강제하고, 인간은 그 도시를 개조하려고 하는 상호기생적인 관계에 놓이게 된다.
